  my sister. doesn't she look great?  i can't wait to see my family on monday. i'm leaving great lakes at 1300 to go to ohare aiport, then to san dog at 1645.  2 1/2 days to go. i'm really excited.
  the last blog was about this whole stress factor that i've been having for the past 3 weeks. trying to get a recommendation for a job change is a bitch. after bm1 roy said he wasn't going to give me the recommendation he turns around 4 days later and says that he was. but did he come through? noooooo. i'm graduating as a seaman undesignated. and QM 2 suggested that when i become a e-3 take the prequales and tests for qm (quartermaster). such a bitch, but he said that if i strike and take the quale exams/ assignments then i won't have to go to a-school. he didn't have to. so i'll be trying that. who knows. maybe it'll happen.
  but i'm anxious to leave here on monday. then on may 14th i go to my ship.
